Thanks for letting me join your site!
Here’s my Landy, he's named Ivor after Ivor the Engine!
I originally wanted a late Series 3 as I preferred the old lift up door handles and sliding windows but a few friends recommended I went for the newer 110. It wasn't until I saw Ivor on eBay that I found out the very earliest 110s had the same doors and sliding windows the Series 3 had so I could have the best of both worlds!
A friend called him Ivor, which was supposed to be derogatory but I quite liked the name and it fits the old farmer image
He’s an ex farm vehicle and was sat up on a farm for almost a decade, apparently the farmer kept him for sentimental reasons.
The trader I bought him from got him as a part ex from the farmer for a new Land Rover and was going to scrap him. The trader decided to stick him through an MoT which to his amazement he passed after a bit of tinkering.
The Trader stuck him on eBay, which is where I bought him in February last year.
I went with a Land Rover expert who told me the chassis was solid and although he looked a mess the structure was sound.
The last pic is from the eBay add, he was covered in algae!
He’s had a lot of tidying up done, lots of lights (yes, I got a little carried away!), new painted wheels, Land Rover leather seats, new rear canopy, new "old style" bakalite number plates, Carpet, Alpine CarPlay stereo and a good bath!
At the moment I have a 2.5NA diesel which I’m replacing soon with the 19J. The 2.5NA gets 29mpg but is painfully slow!
