Hi all,

Im new to these forums but have been a lover of RR's since i was younger,34 now.

Im currently in the market for a RR and looking for advice.Im after the L322 model(2003 onwards i believe) and was looking for help on which model to purchase. My budget is around 18k but could maybe squeeze to 20K at a push.Any help would be much appreciated.I wont be towing anything except maybe the odd trailer with enduro bike on but would be interested in a bit of light off roading in it(with tuition first). Thanks in advance for any advice.

Chris

someone should be along eventually yooth, yu will just have to be patient.

you dont say whether u want petrol or deezul, but I would say with ur budget you are more likely to find a petrol.
though with RR depreciation u never know ya luck.

Apparently pre 03's are problem aplenty eletrickry wise, but never had 1 so dont really know.
If i did get 1 though I would have a petrol cos i am a stupid burble brain!!

The fact you wanna spend £18-20K on something your gonna take off road is slightly worryin.

Why not just get a cheapy older toy to play with and a nice RR to polish

I towld yer there all at golf then the club fer G&T then it's of to see the mistress, then home fer dinner with wifey. Wait while tommoz when they've finished reading the Sundy supplements an they'll be on here before afternoon service in church.

Why is that worrying?? After all its what a Range Rover was designed to do, not to stay on-road all the time. If your gonna buy one and not off-road it at all then your just boring :p

I off-raod my P38 some of the time but nothing harsh enough to break it. You can go off-road and not destroy a vehicle.

-Wills :)

I take me p38 over fields and stuff but wouldn't consider anything else if I'd just spent £20k on it. Thats why I just bought me toy:D

mmmmm...17 views but no help.Might have came to the wrong place here i think.
From a technical point of view I would go for a later TD6,with a good history.I have seen too many of the V8's with problems,(expensive) and they dont take too kindly to LPG.
Hevac panels not letting the body computer to go to sleep, steering wheels not adjusting, seat and door trims falling apart, gearbox and front diff failure, leaky rads,(first job tomorrow) injtercooler hoses, and rear suspension bushes failing.
Saying that they are lovely to drive and I only tend to see the ones that have big problems - they dont all go wrong.

Thank you.Im not really fussy if its petrol or diesel as i wont be doing astronomical miles in it.Its just having wanted one since i was a kid and now in a position to buy one,i wanted to try and get as much info as possible in order to get model that is not prone to breaking down.Any other help would be great.I considered one of the later P38's but i heard they are quite prone to faults?.The L322 is the better to look at in my opinion. The off road side of it is just now and again for a bit of fun as i spend a lot of time doing track days in my other car. Thanks for advice so far.
