Hi all, new to the forum.

I have had this lovely Caspian Blue FL2 for nearly 2 years now.

Has been great, although repairs outweigh the price of the car already 😂, nothing serious though.

It used daily for the wife to commute to and from work, and fortnightly towing the horse in the trailer to and from events.

Unfortunately, about 2 months ago a taxi driver backed into the rear door, which is pretty hard to find in this colour. It did crimple the rear arch slightly but I'm not so bothered about about that bit, the door is really frustrating though as It's not a colour that I will be able to blend in myself (I have done metallic before but I don't think I could get this slight colour shift right).

I didn't know this forum existed until I did some internet searching trying to find a door.

I can't post in the wanted section as I don't have 50 posts, which is a lot when I am after help with tracking down a door in a rare colour that I still can't find, LRC818.

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it.

Hey and welcome,.
I have a Baltic blue one and there are a few places that will sell the LR paints of that time.

Hi thank you for your reply, I have found the paint colour from a Land Rovoer supplier near to me but because the paint has a green metalflake to it I don't want to try to do it myself because I don't think I will be able to get it to blend well with the other body parts.

There is also a dint in it near the hinge which you can see on this lovely blurry picture from my wife 😅

You could always speak to a panel repair place. :)

I've taken it to the body shop down the road from me as it also needs the lower rear arches to be cut, replated and painted (but been quoted £750 each side from another place).

Because the arches are only small cosmetic rust bubbles at the moment, he said to wait until the mot and see if anything else needs welding and he will do the arches and the door then but hasn't given a price yet.

The door is really bugging me looking at it all the time, it looks terrible compared to the rest of the car, I hate having a stone chip let alone a big scuff like that so was hoping to try to get a door so I can just swap it over.

Could try setting a search alert on ebay. Sods law is you'd end up getting it repaired then a door would pop up in colour 😅 bear in mind even a used door in same colour is likely to be slightly different shade though. I think a good blow-in repair would be best really

That's what I hope doesn't happen 😅 I've had a search set up since it happened and didn't just want to get the door repaired and painted without the arch's at the same time (to save cost on a second paint mix) but being quoted £750 per side from another body shop (before the door issue) I don't fancy my chances with this body shop being cheep with the door also included 😔

I'll see what price he gives but don't really want to wait until November for the mot for it to be done.
