New exhaust time

A few years ago I replaced the standard exhaust on my 1992 110 200tdi with a stainless system from a well known supplier. All was well until it started rotting at the flange joints and I subsequently found the flanges were mild steel & not stainless. Through these forums I learnt of Demand Engineering in Suffolk & spoke to Dan last year about a replacement. At the time he wasn’t making an exhaust system for the 200tdi but said he had plans for this year. In March I contacted them again and was pleased to find out they’d now started making one so I ordered it.

it arrived two days ago and all I can say is ‘quality’. Wow. It fits perfectly and the only issue I had was having to drop the gearbox cross member to get it in place as it’s a bigger diameter than the original. I’ve still got the cross member to refit! By the looks of the old exhaust it was just in time as it had severely rotted around an already repaired flange area.

My old Defender was rebuilt on a galv chassis with galv bulkhead so there’s plenty of life left in the old beast and this new exhaust should hopefully be the last I have to fit. Anyone wanting a quality exhaust system for their Landrover could do worse than contact Demand. I have no affiliation with them but am just an impressed customer.

Yes, I’ve seen a lot of stainless fabrication, as we used to manufacture our own equipment, but this stuff is quality.
