Got my feb issue of LRM quite late (yesterday), however I read with some interest that ACE in Linconshire now stock an electronic distributor for series motors. Might be worthy of consideration if you're looking for a new one and you've got £89.99 to spare.
Secondly I also read that theres a guy near Derby who is fabricating brand new bulkheads (Galvanised) for the ll/llA and series 3 again its feckin pricey but it is available if you're prepared to pay.
Personally I'm quite happy to patch if poss but one day, who knows.

Regards WP.

Have to say a lad at work asked if this would be the first mod I carried out on mine? Can't say I can think of a single really good reason that stands up to some scrutiny and reasoned argument.

That's me point exactly (no pun intended) as soon as you add fancy electrickery fault finding and cobbled together repairs become far harder to carry out. A quick trawl through the RR or disco threads tells us all we need to know about electronic anything.

It all boils down to personal preference chaps. I think its a better option personally, however I might not need to replace my dizzy for ages yet (if at all) so gonna stick with points until then.

Regards WP.

Yeah, I'd rather replace my points then my pints anyday! I guess if you had endless ignition problems it would be a worthy replacment, but there's is a lot to be said for 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' & like Mr Yella says, they are handy as a dignostic tool on their own.

Ahhh, sweet memories, many an errant spark has found my wet hands, reminds you your alive!............Actually, 'cuted myself today, weren't that sweet!

Hey, it was my hand, not me bollox! Just finished my snorkel today. Was trying to run the air pipe under the brake master & put my elbow on the + whilst leaning on the rest of the -, OUCH! Was just quite pleased to find my heart less fragile than I thought it was. "Oww, ****, ****, ****" rather than "oww...........................................!" Frankly, result!
