I bit the bullet this week and had a new clutch and flywheel fitted. The clutch had been slipping for a while, but it got steadily worse over the past few weeks. I also had a new water pump and thermostat fitted while it was in the workshop.
All good so far, any nonsense I'll let you know

How much did each bit cost or was it a job lot price? Also where did you have the work done?

DM Flywheel £342 (LUK)
Clutch kit with slave cylinder £175 (LUK)
Flywheel bolts £10
MTF 94 gearbox oil £22.85 (5ltr)
IRD oil £14 (2ltr)
Labour charge £200
Water pump £48 (Ruville)
Thermostat & housing £20
Labour charge £50
Mechanic also supplied and fitted a new brake pipe to rear, across the chassis for £30. Making a total labour charge of £280.
I feel ill now it's all written down in black & white, why did you make me do it
I hope this will be of some help to you.

As a warning to others :p

Mileage was 130,000.
I trawled the internet for info about changing the clutch, and changing the flywheel at the same time was advised because of the high mileage.
Members of Landyzone, with far more knowledge than myself, also recommend a flywheel change at such high miles.
Anyway the jobs done and I can drive uphill now :)

At 130K it was probably a marginal call but better to change it with the clutch out now than have it fail in 6 months. ;)

What price peace of mind.

Got my FL booked in for new clutch and flywheel as its also at same mileage with slipping clutch. My trusted garaged advised for small saving in just having the clutch done may as well have flywheel done for peace of mind.

hi im trying to do the clutch myself does the ird have to come off to split housing . as i cant shift it .cheers

I think there is a bolt which is kinda hidden by the IRD. I believe you can do the job without removing the IRD but it makes the job much harder, especially when refitting.
