I've been getting conflicting advice regarding the need to have an SVA test on a landy with a new replacement chassis.
Always assumed that would be the case with a second hand chassis and would result in a Q-plate but recently was told this applies to new chassis even if they are to same spec as OE. I thought it was a load of cak.
So dredged thru The Motor Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 2001
In Regulation 3 (1), schedule 2 vehicles, part 7 found this gem:
Rebuilt vehicles
7. A vehicle is a rebuilt vehicle if it -
(c) has been rebuilt using a replacement chassis, or an integral chassis body, which is of the same design and construction as that of the original vehicle and which -
It seems fairly black and white - just hope the MOT man won't know the rule!! Theres a lot of folk on here with new replacement chassis' including masel. The rules are rediculously complex.
