Disco 1 New car judder...

Hey everyone, so I've got this new disco 1. It's a 1999 300tdi.
Lovely clean car, I believe it's had a boost pin fitted but I cannot say for sure, it has a receipt for one being fitted and it seems to pull very nice.
However, more noticeable in third when pulling away it has a judder.
It had a small exhaust gas leak into coolant so I've done the head gasket with a multilayer one.
I was hoping that would sort it but not. Any ideas.
Obviously clutch pressure plate or flywheel.
But lots of things spring to mind. The steering wheel does not vibrate with it so I'm ruling out wheel bearings?
Any ideas..........

The donut on the end of the rear shaft,and/or maybe even the pinion nut?

Yep, had both of these happen too! And the rear prop front flange too .. came loose - though they may have been on SWMBO's D1 ?

Bl@@dy LR, you'd have thought they could design something marginally better

Engine or gbox mounts
If you replace clutch do not go cheap

In my case it was a local 4x4 garage that had replaced the diff some time previously. Simply hadn't done the pinion nut up tight enough. Once tightened no harm done, amazingly.
Manifested itself as vibration and a kind of low moaning noise.

Mirrors my experience -

1) My rear diff input flange was very loose - no noise at all until about 65-70, then it sounded the old push bike with a piece or card in the wheel spokes trick - only louder and resonating throughout the vehicle.. - took it to bits, cleaned it up, loctite 270 on the threads and bob is my mothers brother, again.. tis about 2K miles ago and AFAIK, no harm done .. amazingly.

SWMBO's rear prop input flange / TB rear output flange was loose - weird ticking/tapping noise at about 50/55, went underneath - nothing really obvious, but figured it must be the relevant bearing ... stripped it all down, and the flange nut wasn't even finger tight!! However, since I had bought the bearing, I fitted it.. whilst doing the seal I noticed the seal land on the flange had a groove in it, so I replaced that too - that is towards 30K miles ago, and everything is still fine.

Over engineered and under stressed clearly has some advantages

After sitting under the vehicle for some extensive welding I have noticed they the rear prop appears to be not inline with the pinion in the diff. It's definitely broken the doughnut before as I can see a bolt head gouge in the propshaft fitting. So I'm thinking the car has been lifted. I thought my old Discovery had just sagged over time.
The springs are a silver grey colour. I'm sure the originals are black with coloured stripes?

Could be. You could measure the distance hub centre to top edge of outer wheel arch, then hope someone cand be assed to measure theirs. Mine has an accidental lift due to having fitted HD springs. Or I 'd do this for you.
