New addition to the family

I try to get back (UK) about every couple of months for around a month to 6 weeks.
The season, for the pool service industry, is at its busiest in June, July and August. That's when we get the most problems. Then from the end of September/start of October, as the weather starts to get colder and the chances of rain reduces, the algae becomes less of a problem and so I can take time away. I have 3 employees and they are pretty good at getting along without me (in fact they probably prefer it when I am not here).

ok,so you come back on a pretty regular basis then.look on the green laning section.you could go laning with those groups with your disco here.so pool cleaning is big business i take it where you are?.
 
Yes, its unusual for a home to not have a pool over here. I have about 130 accounts that get serviced weekly.
There is a good club that is run by a friend of mine (who also has a LR indy garage in Congleton, which is handy).
I have yet to join though, there always seems to be something else getting in the way when I get back.
I have a house in Congleton, so there is always something that needs sorting out, when I get back. 2 of my children still live there (they are 20 and 24 so not really counted as children, I suppose).
One day, I will get to a meeting, and arrange something.
I lost my left leg, above the knee, 5 years ago, in a motorcycle accident, so I do have to be careful how far I go off the beaten track. Not only for my sake but also for those that may have to come get me.

ok,so you have a base to stay in,that seems a good business to be in then really,how long you lived over there,which is where exactly??.sorry to hear about your leg as well.but if you do go out laning with the people off this forum,you would never get stuck,or left behind or anything.we have a great friendship on here even for bods we have never met.there is a system in place called landyzone international rescue.so anyone breaks down,gets stuck etc etc there will be bods ready and willing at anytime to come and help,no matter what.:):)

I've only been over here for about 6 months (sorry, here being Davenport, which is about 30 miles west of Orlando on the way to Tampa in Florida US of A).
I was a driver for Morrisons supermarket in the UK, from 1998, so a bit of a departure. To be honest there have been times when I wish I had not bothered, but, then some days are great. The yanks may speak the same language as us, or at least an approximation of it :rolleyes:. There is a vast difference in the way they do most other things though, and that took aq bit of getting used to.
I have a 5 year visa and I will probably sell up here come back home after that runs out.

ok,yes the yanks have a peculiar way about them.well at least you have given it a go and tried.been to florida just once,usual thing though.but the lz rescue is a great thing,bods on here have gone out to members many miles from where they live to get a complete stranger out of trouble,all for nothing just the fact that they want to help a fellow landy owner out.
 
That is one of the reasons that I have stuck with Land Rover. Its not really the vehicles but the being part of a much bigger circle of like minded people.
The biking community is very similar and, again, one of the reasons why many people ride motorcycles.
Got to go mate, Phones keep ringing and customers tend to get a little "****y" when I ignore them for too long. LOL.
I'll speak to you later. When I get over there I'll maybe arrange a trip over to yours (where ever you are) if the old girl will make it (and if not I'll just bring the Disco :rofl:)
