Hi guys.

New to the Landy fold. Have had TVR’s in the past but been in more modern stuff recently. Nice to be back in an older car again!

Picked up a Foley converted Auto a couple of weeks ago, which I jumped at so that the wife will actually drive it, and have to say I’m very happy with it. It also has heated front and rear screen, and mirrors, heated seats, AC, auxiliary heater, updated oil cooler, EGF blank off.

Work so far:

- LED lights
- ORE headlights
- Hella driving lamps on new nudge bar
- ice and fire Masai steps
- Ripped out old carpets and Dynamatted - foamed over the top of that
- carpeted rear area
- decked out rear
- Exmoor trim seat covers
- exmoor trim wheel
- Pioneer head unit
- Reverse cam & DAB
- New speakers and sub
- new BF all terrains
- heritage badge
- centre box delete
- torn out aggressive rear window tints
- new rear door sill
- rear door storage bag (bodged on from a series but it works quite nicely)
- 30mm spacers

Most importantly some great fun green laneing with my four year old who adores the car.

On the list to do:

- new wheel nuts
- wheel centre caps
- dirt d fenders (making myself)
- washer jets on wiper blades
- potential rear end respray
- very light tinting on rears
- window surrounds in and dynamat behind them (currently got ply with polystyrene behind them which is really letting the cabin down)
- re-silicon around the extra sunroof in the rear which is letting water in a bit in heavy rain.

Lots of little single track lanes near me down in Cornwall, along with two farms by our house, so it’s caked in mud most of the time - no interest in in being a show queen.

Any other suggestions of things to upgrade would be great.

Very much enjoying getting the spanner’s out again and being able to work on it.

Sounds like you are enjoying your truck. Kids just love Landy rides. Don't forget to take care of the underside and bulkhead. A regular oiling every year has kept mine happy for many a year along with home made "Gwyn Lewis' type flaps to keep crud away from things like footwells and crossmembers.

Don’t they just. Got some fast cars too but get so much more enjoyment at 30mph in this 👌🏼.

Thanks for the tips, it has a good amount of oil on at the moment but chatting to a friend about getting a few of us in to use a ramp to clean and oil up at some stage.

By the Gwynn Lewis style, do you mean the bits that actually bolt inside the arch? They look good and I get a lot of cr*p inside the arches near me.

This is how I clean mine's underside:) still original rear crossmember although it has had a couple of patches.

Buy or make yourself a set of large floor ramps. I got mine off a chap who made them for his military trucks, is just angle and flat strap welded together.

You can also make you own little mud covers rather than spending out for the expensive Gwyn Lewis ones. I have fitted extended front and rear versions to protect the chassis made form some old conveyor belt, they are just longer versions of what landrover already had fitted

I did actually get some little ramps with the car so I’ll get it up in the air. In fairness I think it does have some sort of flap over the lights, but I don’t think at the front. I’ll have a look.

I’m also in the process of making something similar to the dirt d fenders. Just got some mouldable plastic sheets. Better than paying £65 a pair for the branded ones, and they’ll do exactly the same thing, that’s more for the body of the car than the chassis though. Ones I’ve fitted to the front are already working a treat though.

I’ll upload photos when all done and I’ve had chance to wash the car.

Little car ramps will probably not get it high enough to be comfortably wash the underside but will be better than sat on the ground.

There should be a flap over the rear light already but it stops at the bottom of the body and not cover the crossmember. I have replaced these with longer ones that cover the crossmember as well increasing the protection for the ends of the crossmember.

Got one side done now, used some mouldable plastic and have done this behind the front wheel as well as in front and behind the rear wheel.

Good with the mouldable plastic as I’ve been able to shape it around the arch and inside of the sills nicely to hold it in place. Just a couple of screws into the plastic of the arch on each.

Will report back on whether they work once the car is clean so I can actually tell.
