Hello

I'm looking to rent a vehicle next week that can carry the following :

4 adults + 2 children (a 7-year old and a 5-year old)
8 suitcases + maybe carry-on bag or two

Not sure about the size of the suitcases but let's assume they are
"large".

I will be picking a friend (and family) up from the airport next week and
renting a minivan/SUV is going to be more economical than a cab.

I'm thinking a 5-seater sould suffice for the hour-long drive; the 2 kids
could share a seat (or not ?).

I'm hoping that either a minivan like the Dodge Caravan or a mid-size SUV
like the Chevy Trailblazer or GMC Envoy would do the trick.

Between the two, am I better off with a minivan or a mid-sized SUV ? Or
do I need a large SUV ?

Opinions greatly appreciated.

While you are comparing options, you might ask what it would cost to
rent a full sized van. With all the stuff you want to carry I'm not
sure you can even fit it all into any of the mini-vans or midsized
SUVs. You can go to www.edmunds.com and should be able to look up the
info on cargo space cubic feet for the various vehicles.
