Need new tyres, what do you think of Insa Turbo Ranger All Terrain?

Actually a retread is just replacing the tread by gluing it on hence retreading where as a remould is put back into a mould and the tyre is heat formed again hence the remould but your right they all get called the same by the time the get to the end user...

Sorry you are wrong with this. That was taken from a google of search for what was the difference. they all get heat molded together then tread is put on.

The old retread where as you say glued the tread on and then baked is no longer.

If you got time do a google and they explain it very well :)

I actually got that information from my suppliers manual, the retreads are no longer legal in the UK (which is why some people say remoulds are not legal) but a remould is still legal, as I say now days its common to call a remould a retread anyway so this is a pointless debate, you even agree with me in your last comment by saying

for the past two years i,ve been on a set of malatesta kaimens. they,ve took me everywhere i ,ve needed to go only reason i thought i put my two pennys worth in
is that i found that that i could go through a set of insa,s turbo special traks in less than a year and these kaimens have pretty much stood up to every thing i,ve put at them and lasted twice as long

Isn't the difference a retread is just the tread is replaced and a remould new tread and a new layer of rubber applied to the side wall?

Or have I been fed incorrect information?

If it's only the tread surely they would have different brand names on sidewall, unless they source insa turbo casings only? I've just bought rangers for my 90 £125 for 4!

Just bought a second Freelander running 4 new insa turbo rangers
Anyone tells you the road noise is not excessive is deaf

They're not to bad on a separate chassis LR or a Pajero type vehicle, but on a Freelander, they'll be hideous. I'm in the middle of this very same debate on this forum, where the OP has a FL2 and wants Insa Turbo for that in winter, assuming it's like a larger LR. In my opinion the FL1 or 2 doesn't like rough or aggressive tread tyres, but if someone wants to waste money, I am inclined to let them.

I am hoping to swap them for better style wheels with legal tyres so let’s hope someone disagrees we us ?
In all fairness I just bought it and it’s not getting MOTed till Wednesday so limited use only to the garage to get the front brake pipe changed ( not got the tools pipe or time ) but errrrrr what a strange drive

Im gonna disagree here! My brother in laws Freelander 2 runs Insa Dakars and i also run them on my D2 half the year. His FL2 is just as noisy as my D2! There is no real difference. But thats a Dakar not a Ranger.

What about the tread vibration? D2 suspension should be able to kill it where as the FL2 setup can't kill it as well.
