Need highway tires for 4 Runner

I am going to get a second set of rims and some road tires for my 4
Runner to save my 32" mud tires and maybe break the 15MPG barrier. I
think stock it came with some sad looking P225/75R15s, I don't know what
the load rating was. Canadian tire has some 235/75R15s with a 108
(2205lb) load rating on sale. Anyone know if that is safe for highway
use for a truck that is around 3900lbs?

I've just looked into this...

"Extra-Load" P235/75R15's at 108 is as high as it goes in that size, the
"4-Ply" rated 235/75LT15's I saw are only 101 or 104. They are used on
Dakota Club Cab 4x4's which weigh in at ~ 4300 lbs. If you want more
load rating, you'll have to go to another size tire, probably 16's.

If it helps some are available in an "S" speed rating, which means it is
less likely to overheat from a heavy truck doing sustained high speeds.
Take a close look at the Michelin LTX series, for example the M&S.

Frankly you would probably do OK with a 104 rated tire....

I used the 235/75R15 Firestone tires on mine for 2 years with no problem.
With the 22RE engine, the truck can't go over 85mph anyway. If the tire
rating is 2205 lbs. 4 tires would be 8820 lbs. That should be plenty for a
3900 lbs. truck.

As long as I drive it on all 4 I guess Thanks, I bought them today
anyway, just have to find a set of rims now.
