need help deciding BMW X5 v Range Rover v Porsche Cayenne

Your going to get worries with most vehicles unfortunately. That's the gamble. I've a client who bought an l322 for £7500. 3.6ltr v8 diesel version and it broke down the same day with powerless issues and 37 faults in the memory. Most historic and some intermittent but three main issues that were cutting the power at speed on the motorway... Scary stuff but reality and most cars will behave the same in that scenario.
If it's older car, stuff will fail and you will have to repair it.
I think should find the best with the most history and get a warranty out on it and enjoy it. Whichever your choice is:cool:

It isn't just old cars. One of my neighbours has a newer Mazda and he's had way more hassle than I have.
 
went to see the hyundai i800 today, wife didnt like the hyundai i800 its very big which i like but she found it uncomfortable in regards to seating position and shes short to be fair so i an understand where shes coming from
I've only just noticed this. You, and the wife, are aware that there is only a sparrow's fart size difference between L322 and i800?
I can't be bothered reading 10 pages, but have you, and the wife, test driven an L322 yet?

At the moment the range rover is no longer on my want list due to reliability, hence why no test drive

I'm actually looking at other vehicles too not just the BMW X5 and the Porsche Cayenne

@109,000miles you will have it a little while then it will likely need serious work, unless its already been done really early. Getting to the age where many original parts will be starting to die
 
Volvo XC90 suffer from serious gearbox issues around 100,000 miles and you would be looking at about £2k to fix. Other than that they are pretty good cars.

hey peeps need a bit of help deciding which car to go for

ive narrowed it down to the BMW X5, Range Rover or the Porsche Cayenne

obviously want to spend as little as possible

price range is from around 05-08 plate

so looking at the E53 BMW X5, the L322 Range Rover and the MK1 Porsche Cayenne

reliability is important to me more then performance

im looking at a petrol so has to be ULEZ Free

any help would be appreciated, many thanks
Firstly, don't pick three marques which have reliability issues unless you are prepared to become an "enthusiast" which is short for "constantly trying to stay away from dealers by fixing the stuff yourself!" ..... spend as much as possible! If reliability is important then buy a KIA or SANGYONG thingy... I hear the Skoda Yeti is quite good? Your question is more about which one will cripple you the most.... I am afraid you have hit an oxymoron. Save your money and get a nice luxury estate unless you need to pull something or go over stuff?

think he's a "lady",been looking since June and still not bought something. It's like shopping with the "Boss" before lockdown I got my own back on her,we went to the pub then on a crawl around the rest in the village ,in the last one I announced that I liked the pint in the first pub so we had to go back for another. That went down well!!

yea someone did mention kia previously because of the 7 year warranty

seen this i like it but its not ulez free, so no good in brum, leeds and london
