Hi folks

We just bought a 2001 110TD5 CSW from a main dealer. They agreed to fix a shed-load of things as part of the sale (including surface rust on the 'triangles', surprisingly) but I also found three 1 to 2" holes in the floor pan (the upright panel under the 2nd row of seats), which they agreed to do.

They said they were going to replace the panel, but they have just phoned to say its 'too big a job', and they've patched it with 'aluminium resin', and covered it with schutz. Is this good enough, you reckon? I can't decide. Anyone know what their obligations are under the anti-perforation warranty?

TIA!

didn't you say they agreed to do it?

Well, we'd had it a week when I noticed the holes. We needed it quickly when we bought it, so they agreed to book it in to get the other problems fixed at a later date. I added the holes to the list, but we didn't formally agree on any particular repair method at the time. Lesson learned.

They then phoned and said it would take longer in the bodyshop because of the need for a panel repair, but they now seem to have changed their mind..

Its a complicated story, but it seems the car needs more work to bring it up to dealership standard than they first thought, even though they had it up at a relatively low price..

as the part in question isn't load bearing or what ever they call it it should be ok. the only thing i can think of at the moment is to make sure it is not too close to seat belt mounts. because then it wouldn't be ok
