Navigating to OS Grid ref in TomTom

Hi all,

Is it possible to navigate to an OS Grid ref in my TomTom? I have TT5.x for Windows Mobile. Or do I really have to convert the frid to Long/ Lat First?

no ya can't navigate to grid ref but there are programs online that will convert a GR to a postcode

or do it visually in the map.Thats how i get me lanes off me os onto tomtom

Can't be done, you'll need to convert to lat/long. Also, if its not right next to a tarmac'd road, the thing won't be able to work out how to get there and when you do "navigate to", it will sit there "calculating" for ever, until you press cancel. So make sure the OS grid ref is the start of a green lane next to a road, if that's what you are heading to.

Also, if you do "add favourite" and its eg on a car park off the road a little bit, it will accept the waypoint but never be able to navigate you there for the above reason! So you need to be aware of this and mark waypoints at the edge/entrance to places you might want to go to again, etc.

There are number of little apps for doing this floating round the internet, for PC's and a number of smartphones too.
