Orange eml light lit
Hi all freelander2 disel automatic 07 reg
After standing for six weeks freelander locked me out with the help of small child from next door was able to gain access by emergency key
Tha battery tested 11.6 volts even after charging overnight held only 12v due to it being 5ys old purchased new battery and fitted engine started first time
Drove good for a couple of miles yellow eml light came on no obvious reason checked with elm obd code showed only power train fault cleared fault no problem drove fine after it had been left to cool started again first time engine running great then the eml came on again

If it's not been used for a while, then it's possible the turbo actuator or turbo vanes have gone sticky. This would give a code though.
It sounds like you need a better code reader, as LRs can be a bit fussy as to which codes are shown on what reader.

Thanks i have a elm shows on my phone
And a icar soft will either be suitable and with that fault would it still run perfectly
Thanks

Icarsoft is better than an ELM. I use Torque with an ELM, which is ok with live data, but it's limited with codes.

Some previous experience from my Defender might help. Not a Freelander, but symptoms / cause might be the same. After a battery is reconnected, a number of the vehicle systems will re-set automatically. Some resets require the vehicle to be driven. I experienced this on one occasion and noticed the management light had come on. After a few miles, a stop and a restart, the light no longer came on and all was normal. I did some research on tinterweb at the time and concluded the light-on situation was normal.

There's nothing to reset or recalibrate on the FL2, the adaptations are stored in non-volatile memory, so nothing is lost when the battery is removed, except the trip memory on the dash, and the window one touch calibrations. ;)
