Well as some of you may know, i also have a D1 project on the go, but my daily is a D2 and as they're rot boxes I thought i best get prepared. So heres how I bought my D2:

And it currently sits like this:

Now as most will know the chassis' on a D2 are notoriously **** so in preparation for mine turning to dust I made a purchase:

And got stripping:

The one ive stripped yes. Itll be blasted, repaired and galved then rebuilt to a rolling chassis ready for the body to be swapped in due course

I joined the cummins land rover facebook page as it was something i was contemplating with this build but im really unsure!

Ah, I'm on their too :)
I'd say do it! :D But ultimately it depends on what you actually want out of the vehicle?
Give us a shout if you want to know anything about the conversion and I'll try and help bud.
To add, what is it you're unsure of?

As to whether:
A) would it fit
B) would the rest of the car work such as electrics etc
C) 6bt or 4bt
D) would the extra cost be worth it over the ease of sticking with the tuned td5 i already have
E) etc etc....

Hi Drizz, this looks like it's going to be an interesting thread. Just one quick question: the white one, it's a facelift car isn't it? So I was wondering why you fitted a pre-facelift bumper on it?

very nice thread already I'm thinking of getting a td5 disco next year and getting rid of the D1...

Ive heard the body doesnt rot as fast but the chassis does.

Godlike with your build
