Right folks, got the one shot grease pouches bought and had a look this weekend at getting it done. However, I can't find where the old stuff will come out. Probably stupid but having checked Busters guide mine looks different. It's a Jap re-import, should it make a difference?.

1. The picture is too small for me to examine it for differences &

2. If it had EP oil in it, it's long gone, so if it's got "1-shot" grease in already it shouldn't need changing.

3. There should be a drain plug at the bottom of the swivel housing for draining out fluid.

Most TDi's will have the 1-shot grease in them now as LR were advising this since about 1998 I believe.

I couldn't find the drain plug in mine, and the pics in the Haynes manual didn't match up with what I had, so guess it's done once and forever.

Should have put a jack under it

I shouldn't of undone the bolts I thought they only held the brake pipe bracket on, thinking about it 2 of them big bolts on a little bracket is a bit overkill! Not had a problem with it recently though :)

Cheers Dave. That's the problem, there is no drain plug. As an aside, the swivels were like this when I bought it. My mechanic told me that all the grease on them was a good thing as it kept the swivels well lubricated. Have I been told a load of horse stuff?
