well at least no-one bought it!

Why on earth would the last owner being a copper inspire anyone to buy it - it would inspire exactly the opposite in me having known a few of the dodgy bastids!!:D

It worked, because the lad wanted to take her for a test drive, and when I told him that and reminded him that he would need third party insurance, he asked if I could take him for a spin it instead. Ended up going on a half hour test drive, to prove how good she was.
It still makes me laugh, cant belive that the lnady was meant to be 81k genuine miles even though the mileometer thing was broken. Got the feeling the next person who buys it, will end up getting ripped off.

Ere guys, why not contact the seller, tell him you know the welding needs doing, the tripmeter is stuck, that there is no lpg cert and that the last owner was only KNOWN by the police, not init, tell him he's deliberatley misleading and offer to buy it for a reduced price.....

Bought an Austin Cambridge off a copper once. He had obviously gone in in uniform and "leaned" on the MoT man. Little things like brakes, shockers, exhaust not exactly functioning. Useful though coz when I took it in the following year the man remembered the car and MoTd it again, altrhough he did insist on welding a genuine Crawfords bicuit tin on the bottom and disguising it with thick underseal first.:D

dont need to be a copper to lean on an MOT man! i just pay 50 instead of 30! ere stop all putting acky in an awkward spot here though lads.
