Hi guys

Son ( Andy ) roller painted the 90 yesterday and it looks great, not a landy colour as land ranger told us they had some in but didn't so went to ColourTone who had two colour's of conniston green which i wanted but couldn't tell us which was the lightest of the two so decided to get them to make us some paint up from their older colour mach strip's :)

the first pic's are of the 90 in the garage.

Just got to redo the roof again, paint in the rear corner chequer plate and air intake grill in ( black ) and generally touch up where we couldn't get with a roller and re-fit the grill :)

That's come out really smooth. Looks very professional.

Mine's a few years younger than yours but the paint's a bit tired - going dull and has scratches that won't come out with T-Cut - so I'm thinking about ways to repaint it at a reasonable price. So this looks very promising.

Got any pictures of the rollers used or the paint going on or anything like that, so as to give us a few handy hints?

No pic's of the paint going on but we used a pack of 4" foam rollers ( normal thickness ) and a couple of other 4" rollers but ( half the thickness ) to get in the more awkward places aswell as a few really soft brushes of different sizes, all from B&Q but found the local £ shop sold just as good rollers for a fraction of the price bush **** brushes.

the roof has since been done so as the chequer plate on the rear wings, front grill, and rear x member, just got to do the air intake grill and touch up where we couldn't get with a roller, should be done for weekend :)

In fact I was so impressed I did a quick search for that Isolack brand paint you showed a picture of above. I see it's available from an outfit called Paints4u in this country, but the website doesn't let you specify a colour (which is a bit of a handicap). Where did yours come from, if you don't mind me asking?

Edit - just re-read the thread. Colourtone, of course.

looks good. any closeup pics of the orange peel?

Yeah the only orange peel we could find is on the top half of the drivers door just under the window, bit surprised really as this door is the best of the two front doors but ha ho

ah not too bad at all. think i might give mine a bit of a roller soon, it's well patchy :)

Yeah tbh its the first time we have used a roller to paint with but although it looks great think it could have been better but will probably give it another go when we replace the chassis as we plan to fit the Masia ( spelling ) glass sides after we have done the chassis swop :)

Don't they sell lawn mowers too ??:bounce:

seriously, paint looks really good - and the colour is growing on me too...:)

Yeah when we chose the colour going off a mach strip they had it looked slightly darker than what it is now but when son started to apply the paint he was a bit worried at first as it was a lot lighter shade but thinking as he is in an artificial light enviroment took the chance and did it all but it looks tonne's better in the daylight than it does in the garage :)
