Plus 1 as indeed looks a gorgeous motor, look forward with interest with more updates, plse

see there are D4 jap 5.0 V8 imports but see that many have the dial showing KM, looks like the whole instrument panel has to be changed , even seen some retrofitted with a TFT display

indeed , the gov pushed and pushed diesels , getting rid of many petrols , saying to everyone of how green they were, then of course had the VW scandal which put a massive black mark against them, now with the new ulez coming up us motorists are getting seriously hammered , like bloody buses, “ all change “ , wonder if there’s this kind of thing abroad

can seriously see me also going over to a V8 as I adore my D3 and got useto them over the last 5 x years of ownership

So iv had this for a short time iv a list of things todo nothing I didn't expect. Iv had it up on a ramp
Lower arms front and rear
Centre prop shaft
Little bit of surface rust
Found the heater core is blocked passengers side only giving warm heat instead of hot.

Drives nice as expected 24.4 mpg on motorway and A roads down to 14.3ish around town :rolleyes:

Great to hear mate ur making good progress with the new disco , imagine it’s very nice to drive and even quieter than the 2.7

Plus bet ur pleased it’s not the rear uppers that needs changing , will u change the heater core or try and flush it to see if that works plse

Thankfully I didn't experience any issues, gonna flush the heater core next when my gizmo turns up then its front lower arms .

Many thks and is that one of the dual air/ water guns for the heat exchanger plse as would be great to know how u get on with one

New front lower control arms fitted today on the drive, did this job on our other 1 a little while back. Iv been lucky twice no siezed bolts.
While I had the tools out iv replaced all the brake pads at the same time more than half way worn so another job off the list.

New spark plugs and heater matrix flush and I think it's done

Nothing much to report the cars not caused us any issues other than a bit of tlc I needed to clean the throttle body adjust the parking brake erm that's it really.
I did go to Belgium in it with a car load full of mates on a battle field day trip. I do plan on fitting new tyres at some point but the ones on it are still OK for now.

Been to Bruges a few times so aways off to visit Ypres, then on to Tyne Cot and the German cemetery at Langemark where the the soldiers were buried standing up in groups of eight some times, it’s a dark place as its in a wooded area and the black grave stones lay flat in the grass, twice of many soldiers buried there than at Tyne Cot.

Yep been there many a time, also go visit x2 winner of the vc and lay a reef then over to another cemetery to place 1 on the grave of a nurse who was killed looking after wounded at an aid station. I do half a dozen trips a year with my riding group 1 of which is a ww1 historian.

Evening Stuart, compare the tdv6 to the V8 erm erm. Mpg on a run 24mpg around town 15mpg the tdv6 chipped is a beast the V8 in standard tune is awesome and silent. Tbh we miss our tdv6 but don't dread the possible crank shaft issue anymore .

many thks , alas seeing I’m right on the ulez border I’m hoping to keep mine as long as possible , hopefully one day going over to a V8 seeing many of my trips will be within the zone, ie visiting my parents, dog walks, hospital appointments etc

thks again and indeed great not to have the grenade pulled pin worry over ur head
