I know it's not much help to you now mate but you should have joined earlier before you bought it and asked a few questions about the dealer, price etc..For 18.5k you really could have bought a late minter..Try a post in Anything Goes section some knowledgable fellas on there when it comes to your rights and the law..Best of luck with it.

I worked with land rovers for 11 years in the army I dam well know they need things doing to them the issues I have with this one are

- 18.5K on a land rover from a dealer that says on its website that each land rover is hand picked then meticulously check and fixed by nene's team of experts to have faults from day 1 that are still not fixed after being sent back to nene once)

- Nene have a very much "we do not give a ####" attitude to after sales (I expect more for 18.5K)

- after 7 month this land rover is worth a fraction of what I got it for this truck was funded by my small family firm I will need to sell it in 3 year to get a new work truck and I will get much less for it than I should be for a quality land rover

- they with out question covered rust with cheap black spray paint to get a better price fir this land rover selling it for by far more than it was worth with the rust that here after 7 months

- I went to nene as I needed a fully galvanised under body so it would last me 3 years will little rust

I feel I am not being unreasonable to expect a bit more from a dealer of its supposed quality for the price I paid

to be completely fair they should have a better after sales attitude.

but you should've done your homework before buying too.

it's a bitter pill, i know.

I did my home work I got told by people Nene did a good job on what they sell

And I think them a firm of its size and with what they say on there website should be trusted to deliver the right goods for the price they ask

What you SHOULD have done:

1. Join LANDYZONE
2. Introduce yourself
3. Edit your profile to include location
4. Asked who NOT to buy landrovers from
5. Ask if someone that knows landrovers can cast an eye over one with you
6. Buy a GOOD landrover
7. Have No cause to moan

SIMPLES ;)

1)as a first tine land rover owner how am I suppose to know about landyzone
2) I ask friends that race land rovers and they are well in with land rover people that they had herd good things about NENE
3)when they say on there website we sell quality and if you have issues we will fix it I expect them to do what they say

we know you have been fleeced now is the time to stop moaning and put a list of faults up with pics and we can advise you.

get some help from peeps on here who know ;)

Research the subject ;)
If i was going to spend 18K on a car i would learn as much as i could about them first - at least take someone with you who is good with cars - FFS that is a no brainer

No need to get help yet asking for my cash back to get a GOOD land rover from a GOOD seller

If this fails will see my good friend Tim Plat for help he knows a lot about land rovers and builds them to race

Yer I asked him and he told me he was talking to a dude that says they do good stuff

But like we have seen here "some" people are happy with what nene have sole them

Sorry to read of your problems.

Alot of what you describe sounds pletty standard stuff for the Defender - water ingress, bits falling off etc. Nene may have made the old crate look a bit flash, but it's still a Defender at the end of the day. If it was my 18k, I'd have spent it rather differently.

What does put me on my guard about all this is the way in which this company appears to have dealt with your subsequent dispute about what they have supplied. This complete flipping off in terms of aftercare and complaint handling confirms to me that I will never go near them.

Number of folk's have offered advise/opinions on your troubles that you have either ignored or objected to, so best thing you can do is run along and sort it yourself..:frusty:
