hi my horn stopped working, We have changed he squib, check all the fuses. also the central locking on the doors works intermittingly. The garage said there is no power from the switch to the horn. Can anyone tell me anything I can do to fix this problem please.

Hi, no the horn does not work that way.
Well I think that tells you its nothing to do with the horn button or steering wheel connections - which was the implied cause of the problem by the garage.

Think its time to look at a F2 wiring diagram - find out what controls the horn - eg is there some kind of 'module', whether there is a relay and/or fuse that could have packed a sad and where the wiring runs to check that.

Personally, I'd try and identify if there is a relay and/or fuse involved as that would presumably be the most likely cause of the problem.

If I was after an F1 wiring diagram, I'd turn to the Rave workshop manual. I don't know where such a resource is for the F2. Hopefully others can say.

@Hippo has wiring diagrams for fl2

Wiring diagrams for the FL1 and FL2 have been in the Freelander Tecnical section for over 10 years.

And in my signature that appears below all my posts. But not if yer viewing the site with a phone.

Looking at the circuit diagram, there were several wiring changes over the years.

There's two horns. Both powered by the contacts of relay R133. Said relay coil is powered by fuse FE31 in the engine bay fuse box.

Looks like the switch on the steering wheel is grounded one side. Press the switch to pull down the other side. Signal goes into what it calls the steering wheel module.

You could disconnect the horns and power them with 12vdc to test them. Bit of a faff due to location.
