Hi all, I remember why it got parked up now lol. I am getting the check engine light flick on and off every now and then when driving at over 50 on an A road. The light will come on for a few seconds and then off. While the light is on it will be a little sluggish and pull back - the light then goes off and restores to usual self. Limp mode almost. Only when you accelerate hard like an overtake for example.

It is something fuel related and I reckon it is my veggie oil that has been sat for over a year collecting **** in the shed. I normally change them but haven't done since it was parked up a year and a half ago. Never had the check engine light though  Running 50/50 at the moment. Had no other issues.

99% certain it is what it is but has anyone else got any suggestions. It is a 1998 disco 1 300tdi edc auto in question.

If noting comes to light then I'll plug it in and see if I have any codes to read.

I reckon it's likely to be a fault with the accelerator pedal potentiometer. It's like a volume control on a radio.

If I'm right, some members have had success with cleaning the tracks on the pot. and re-installing.

Hey!

I'm getting the EXACT same problem in my Disco, and have no clue of what could it be, I was hoping it wasn't the Ecu but haven't found a solution yet, or ar least whay causes it :(

Could you fix yours? What was it?

THANKS :D
