Yesterday I went to Tong OffRoad site with Yorkshire & Lincolnshire 4X4 Response Group for a days training. We Arrived a 09:30 and finished about 16:00. Did sessions on Off Road driving Basic Recovery, Winch Safety and Basic Car Maintenance (some people really don't know how to check their, brake fluid)
The main purpose of the day, was so we can honestly turn round to the Police, Councils, NHS etc and say All our members have received training.
But the majority of the day was spent driving round Tong and having a laugh and at £10 for a day at Tong it was well worth the money.
I did post a few links to some picures in what have you done to your landy thread. But I've decided to gather all the posts in one place so anyone who's interested in what the response group does can see for themselves.

This is the Delica I was in getting a lean on
We also had a contingent from the British Red Cross Association. They've recently been given some brand new 110 CSW Defenders by LandRover, but hadn't received any offroad training in them. So we took them under our wing for the day and made sure they all got a chance to see just what the vehicles were capable of. They were on pretty basic road tyres but they were still surprisingly capable..
