Happy birthday to me I hear you say
In September 2007 I will be ten years old.
I was driven from the Land Rover showroom in East London on the 12 September 1997 and Im still in good health but I have had only a few minor illnesses along the way
My first sickie was a rear diff oil seal allowing the oil to drip out this was replaced by the garage and my owner didnt have to pay anything, good ha.
Then there was the bang when my owner lowered the front passenger window, he said the cause was a broken regulator which he removed and replaced with a new one.
Another drip arrived, that was from the oil pressure switch, oil was leaking from the electrical terminal my owner replaced the switch.
Talking of drips I have always had a single drip from my transfer box when Im parked my owner says all Land Rovers mark their territory.
Life goes on, I have my regular servicing to keep me in good health, like my owner.
My most recent sickie was on the way to Yorkshire the cruise control packed up my owner cut off the split ends of a hose and we are back to normal.
My owner was looking something to do so decided to clean the sunroof seals as a result I had a leaking sunroof this was cured with a dab of Vaseline, and he has just found out after all this time that he cannot lock/unlock the rear door with the key, although it goes in to the lock it wont turn. Im now glad I have central locking
Im still mostly original other than service parts, front tyres and rear brake pads, batteries x2 and a nice shining stainless still Janspeed exhaust and a big box on the boot floor which my owner calls a "subby".
Thank U for your best wishes on the next 10 years and another 34,000 miles.
Ps my owner is posting this for me, as I dont know how.
