Check the voltage before you put it on the car, if it's less than 12.7 then put it on charge first. They don't always get sent with a full charge

funny enough learnt that lesson some years back, fitted a new battery thinking that would resolve the issue, checked it and was at 12 Vdc , so indeed from then on always charged them before hand , plus on mine I always charge mine via the 12s towing socket , so much easier than messing around as don’t have to lift the bonnet , lol

The 11.6 was read yesterday - which was 2 days after the battery was charged and since then it's obviously not been run / charged.... but we've had the ignition on and off loads trying to work out whats been going on (doors been open with interior lights on, radio etc)

The battery is only 6 months old - it's a 5 Year Yuassa x

D3 ign on but engine off, interior lights and dash on you are a brave mad to leave it even as long as 30 minutes tops before you have a potential no start situation, lots of modern cars are like this, real battery hungry.
The yuasa are good, my last one lasted 3 yrs, changed by halfords under warranty at no cost to me, the previous utter dog**** exide was dead at 18mths.
Sometimes you can strike lucky and recover a discharged battery, other times you are out of luck.
