Hardly earth shattering but lost the nearside rear bracket. It looks like they may be welded on but someone said they should bolt on. Should I be looking for a tapped hole or something??

yeh, they are bolted on.. mine were and I took them off 2 weekends ago...

I've heard the bolts are prone to snap, mine didn't, but if that was the case when the brackets were removed from yours at some point, then they might have spot welded the brackets when they put it back

I took mine off at the weekend to clean them up and fit new flaps. The bracket screws into a bush / insert in the chassis rail, I think it's brass. One unscrewed fine, the other side the bush came out. so need a new one.

Hi Gents,

The brackets are held on by rivnuts in the crossmember - they are a bit like a poprivet except the centre is an M6 threaded nut.

Very cheap to buy - you don't need to buy the fitting tool just use an M6 bolt and nut to wind in the rivet once in the cross member - then unscrew the bolt and fit the mud flap bracket - easy
