Ive said exactly the same before. You can see that they're too thin for that type so very little material behind the nut making them week. When you have the fatter ones there's an equivalent amount of material to an alloy wheel and when they're a quality part far stronger than basic aluminium ones.

It is not the only one who complains of them ,i think is bad quality. If this thing is happening at 200 km h you go really fast to heaven or hell.....
However,if i buy some spacer would be a quality product ...H&R .....EIBACH....HOFMANN.....a month ago i found a set a 4 wheel spacer made by hofmann at a price of 130 EUR was a deal but i call to late .

200 kph. You do realise that's 120mph. I doubt a freelander could get up to that speed. I 5hit myself @ 80mph. BTW I don't speak German and they are H&R spacers on the website.

It's the reason I only sell H&R ones because they're good quality. Cheap ones on eBay are just that. You have to bear in mind that they're normally sold in pairs because it's common to put wider on the back than the front. So check the quantity and be prepared to double it.
As for the picture. I guess there are many reasons they could do that including potholes and kerbs, but the material just doesn't look thick around the base of the nut.

Just interested, why do you sh1t yourself at 80?

There's aluminum and then there's aluminum. There are many aluminum alloys, all with different characteristics.(2024-T3, 6061-T6 etc.)
It's important that the correct alloy is specced for the application. I would think that high-strength alloy like 6061-T6 would be
strong enough to do the job, but then I'm not a metallurgist or Materials Engineer. These days anyone with access to a CNC machine can
make wheel spacers and you would hope that they would do their research and specify the correct metal stock. With a well-known European or North American company (Who can be held accountable) you are probably pretty safe. With a guy who has a friend who works in a machine shop and can make some after hours, or someone on E-bay who buys a job lot from Asia, not so much.

I'm not into speed. No other reason
Ironically your avatar is the Motörhead Speed Freak mad dog thing. I believe they were really into speed, crazy lads. Ah, I remember it well at the Hammersmith Odeon.....(drifts away into distant past).....

My ears are still ringing from Hammersmith :)
I don't know how he lived so long. I was in a pub with Lemmy in Portobello Rd in1981 and he was drinking pints of vodka and orange. Couldn't have been good for the ears the volume they played at right enough. They were always ringing afterwards you have reminded me! Don't know where the time goes dude. Rock n Roll bro. And Hippos apparently. BTW your black wheels looked good man and were the spacers alright? You copped some nerd flak there ha

Those spacers look the bollocks mate and yeah I did cop some flak haha. I was around Portobello Road sometime early 80s looking for a bullet belt with my mate. Couldn't find one and then in a distant I see Lemmy. I asked him where I could get one and he pointed to some old guy with a stall and we ended up getting 1 each. Don't know what happened to it but It's gone and I'm sick as a pig about that. They cost a bomb now :(
Take care Philgt50

Where did you get the spacers and just put them on with the wheels on there? No armagedon as predicted?
Yeah; happy days when we were young eh? Thanks for the memories bro, I love that dogs head speed freak, always have. Can't handle the speed either now . Have a good one mate

Got the spacers from here mate https://www.muddymods.com/products/copy-of-h-r-30mm-wheel-spacer-kit-set-of-four just whacked them on and torqued them up job done. Incidentally I had this put on my leg View attachment 1161925 months before Lemmys death :(

Nice ink man, looks orsm and also painful. Serious Motörheadbanger! Thanks for the chat, will dig out some sounds later! Speak again I'm sure. All the best mate

As already stated, this is correct in theory but in the real world most people won't have any issues.
A gentleman on here tried to tell me that fitting a 50mm lift kit would change the suspension and steering geometry so much it would make my car a complete death trap. He was talking b*****ks.
