muddymods 25mm spacers

I know a few forum members on here are against spacers but I bought a set of 25mm ones from muddymods.com and I have to say I'm more than happy with the results 11/10. I ordered on a Thursday and they were delivered for my installation on Saturday morning. Warren

(Deisel Do) went the extra mile so I wasn't disappointed Saturday paying the extra for postage before 1pm and no doubt costing him more than he anticipated on the postage. So a big thanks to him and a great site to visit. Thanks mate.

Looks good on the car

Apart from the clear aesthetic appeal, is there an off-road advantage to fitting the spacers?

Really ? I've never had any problems like that. 30mm spacers, 50mm lift for the last 25.000 miles. Wheel bearings fine, suspect they're also the originals, now on 130,000 miles.

If the spacers are fitted to return a wider more offset wheel to normal geometry there is no problem, if they are fitted to standard wheels to widen the track there is a problem.

Wammers is right but in the real world?
I personally wouldn't do it, more hassle with insurance and you must inform them to.
Do your tyres protrude ( even slightly?) Past your arches?.
My 110 tyres do, about 10mm and it throws road muck all up the sides

When we all returned from the LZ12 laning trip all the vehicles returned quite clean, mine had sh@t up to the roof

Wheels look fantastic (matt black? mine are satin black and look less 'mean') your car is in equal excellent condition to the wheels as well which helps make the chunky wheel look ever more effective as the car is obviously well loved.

Is yours the first lifted 'Sport' Freelander 1, we have on the forum? It looks higher ride height than mine, but I never changed it yet as I think you have to get
new LR shocks and springs, rather than just a 'lift kit' on the suspension struts? Or where you brave and went ahead and just got the 'lift kit'? If so, that should get
you the same ride height as stock or maybe even higher as the shocks should be stiffer so maybe the car sags less under weight which might explain why it looks so much better than a standard Sport. Either way, well done as it looks more '4x4' now.

If its an 06 it will be standard height but with stiffer sports springs.

Thanks for the positive comments. It's funny you should mention a lift kit because you're not the first person to mention it. I've had the car 16months and not had it lifted. Perhaps the previous owners lifted it? Sadly I'm not mechanically minded. BTW the car is loved

Not a fan of spacers, lifting or black wheels

Are you aware that this is against the construction and use regulations ?
The tyre should never protrude beyond the arch.
Also, the material of the spacer is critical to the safety of the vehicle as the whole wheel relies on that. Aluminium to aluminium 'bolts' / studs' is in no way comparable to steel to steel threads / nuts / bolts.
So, I am DEFINITELY against spacers where the dual fixing method is employed. Small thickness units are fine - (ie 5mm) - larger units MUST use longer STUDS ... no compromise.
Anything else is simply not acceptable IMO.

The tyres don't protrude the arch BTW otherwise I wouldn't of bought them. Well not the top of the arch anyway

Joe. The spacers are a hard anodised magnesium alloy, they are tuv approved, they are a high quality part. You are entitled to your opinion. But it doesn't mean it is correct.
