Mud Tyres - pics if poss - not your usual!

I am looking at fitting muds instead of my all terrains.

At present I have a 2" lift, flexi arches, -35 offset mods with 265/70/16 BFG A/T's fitted...

The tyres I have seen that take my fancy are the Maxxis Bighorn Mud Terrain:-

but unsure whether just to go up to 265/75/16 or make the jump to 265/85/16, so wondered if anyone has 75's and 85's fitted could take a side photo shot to see what they look like, as I don't want them to look too big and out of place, if that makes sense.

Not quite what you're asking, but I've just fitted some Cooper ST-Maxx on my D1 and they're excellent - surprisingly quiet and handle fine on the road. Haven't been offroad in them yet sadly. Might be another option for you?

These are 245/75x16 on std suspension, so ignore the size relative to the arches ;)
 
Cheers for that, I had looked at them, as well as the BFG mud's but have been fitting Maxxis to my 'road cars' and really impressed with them, and the guy in the Maxxis garage showed me the Bighorns, and from what I can read up on them, seem very good.

Also the price ain't bad too - £450.00 for 4x 10 ply versions ;)
 
Cool. Thats a good price too - I paid £102ea for mine in 245, so thats a great price :)

Be good to see some pics when you have them fitted!

Thanks - got any side on pics to see how they fill the arches? what lift have you got?
 
thanks for that, as I am worried that 2" will not be enough for 85's to fit comfortably esp since you have 4".

Think I will just go for 75's.
 
I'm running Maxxis Bighorns and theve been great. I've only got stuck when I've cross axle'd myself.

Unfortunately for you mine are 33" 12.5 15s so a photo won't do you any good.

But its good to hear from someone with them, and that they are good though ;)
 
These are 235/85/16 BFG AT's with 2" lift and camel cut. I know 265/85's will be a tad larger/higher but not by much.

 
Thanks....is there much space between the tyre and the bottom of the sill below the front door?

Ideally need someone local with 85's to try them for size :rolleyes:

I've got 40mm between the end of the sliders and tyre, but suffer no rubbing even when off road.
