will have to do something like that maybe shut it in the bonnet

getting the mud out wasnt a problem i just took the cowling off, but i coundnt do that when i was 100 miles from home on the a17 with limited tools

thanks for your help all

i cover half the rad with a rubber car mat n zip ties when am off road, so half is allways clean, i allso use a water pump spray i got from B&Q the sort u use for sprayin the weeds. i use the jet wash but keep my distance

Thought about this before but for a different reason. If, hypothetically, one was to V8 a Hippo, by sticking the body on a 100 inch chassis, would the engine module fit under the bonnet area of the Hippo design? One idea that came to mind was to have a roof cage and build the rad into that, hence shortening the engine. On its face so to speak. Actually its the way the cooling units work on most diesel trains such as the class 43. Added advantage is the very problem of mud in the fins. :D

i have a 10 litre pump sprayer in the back at all times, just give it a rinse through when we stop for lunch and just before we set off home... get the **** taken by some of the guys but i wasnt the one stuck on the motorway with coolant ****in all over due to blocked rad overheatin...needless to say the same guy had one in boot next time i saw him..lol
