Travelled over 530km round trip yesterday. Outward journey 268.9 km travelled [167.09 mls], used 21.15 litres of fuel [4.65 gal] = 35.93Mpg, 12.71km/l or 7.78 l / 100km. '98 FL1 - 1.8 K series. I'm pretty happy with that:)
Was that mostly highway/motorway driving and at what average speed.

lol - the nearest motorway to htr is over 200kms from his house :) That's all of 8 miles long - and some of it even has more than 1 lane in each direction.

If htr really wants to live the Autobahn lifestyle, he can drive the 850kms return trip here to Christchurch - we have 2 motorways - neither are as long as the Dunedin motorway though :)

In that case, 35mpg is very good. My fl1 1.8 k series will manage about 35 but that is driving at about 60 on a UK motorway. For about 100 miles.

2005 TD4 Auto - 25 to 28 mpg local/short/like 6 miles down - trips of 100+miles on motorway mostly - at legal limits (or a bit more at times) 35mpg - Good branded Diesel.
OK - that's F1 not F2 - but hey!

My TD4 auto does about 29 Mpg around our hilly Cornish A and B roads. I don't think that's bad, but my V6 did just 19 Mpg for the same roads.

I'd call that pretty good - mind you- when I took a '94 Xantia TD9 to Ireland and stooged around at 40ish and often in lower gears for a week I got 53mpg - that old cow did 35mpg round town etc at home and (not mine but a friends) would run on cookin' oil straight from the Supermarket

That old 1900 PSA diesel was fantastic on fuel. My sister had a BX with the same engine which regularly did over 60Mpg.
Modern diesels are stuffed with emission control stuff, which hampers ultimate Mpg ability.

You're just beating me. My TD4 auto does a smidge less around our hilly Cornish roads. Got 38 on a 60mph A30/M5 run recently though. I was pleased with that but crikey it was slow going.

I've been monitoring the fuel usage on my TD4 since February 2016. This will include fuel used while driving and the FBH as a pre-heater too.
Here's the summary screen from the app I use.

My recent MPG will take a small hit, as I currently have a leaking HP pump.

Had to change my HP pump a while ago. The mpg's on the day it finally gave up would not have been great as a fair amount of fuel ended up on the Carnon Downs bypass off slip!

What app is that? Is it any good? I used to use Fuel Log pro but I forgot to back up my data when I last changed my phone and lost everything.

I fitted new seals to my pump the other weekend. However it's still leaking, just not so much.

I use a droid app called "MPG Calculator". I've been using it for years and found it pretty good. It has ads because I won't buy the pro version but otherwise it does what I need.
