Yep its 33.37 mpg and if you pay 133.9p per litre it works out at 18.24 pence per mile.

Bar that I just try to keep in as high a gear as possible and changes up thorough the gears at 2000rpm and below for normal driving where possible.

If yours is an auto it will also be harder on fuel.

Air con running will also reduce the mpg.

some sensible advice on there, ill be disconnecting the air con soon as anyway. and ive already told my missus to change at around 2000 rpm ( not 4000 like she has done)
ill be getting millers soon too.

getting around 25 to the gallon at the moment in mine, dont help the synergy on setting 10 and my heavy right foot

Checked my MPG just yesterday my 52 plate TD4 (47000 miles) does 37 mpg on mostly motorway use at 3000 rpm (ish) at 70 to 75 mph steady. Compares reasonably ok to my Peugeot 406 2.2 HDI (43.5 mpg) as although the Landy is a smaller engine the Landy is also a lot heavier and slab fronted. 406 is also geared better for motorway. Easiest way to check accurately is to push the trip mileometer when you fill up - fill the tank all the way to the top until the trigger stops. Next time you fill up fill the tank all the way to the top again. Ask for a VAT receipt (only takes a second to print in most filling stations). This shows how much fuel you have had to put in to bring tank back up to top and replace the fuel you have used. Write the mileage off the trip mileometer on the back of the VAT receipt and go home and get the calculator out. Divide litres into miles and if you want answer in mpg you need to convert the litres into gallons. Having commuted 100 miles a day for 15 years this is how I find the easiest way to check. Always use same forecourt and same pump so on same ground.
