The 2000ish Honda Civic axle nut appears to be the same size and thread pitch. Might be easier to source locally for you, for me it sure is. I have yet to test it though.

I suspect a universal truth in that - I've always found with heavy car work that taking a shortcut always takes LONGER as you have to unpick and do it properly.

Plan the time appropriately, get the coffee on and take your time.

If you have the facilities, I highly recommend dropping the engine and box (including the IRD).
When I took my lump out. It gave me easy access to replace additional items such as brake lines etc.
