yes they are,they snap alot and the frames are single piviot,
theearly steel frames were good but we sent so many back to em at the shop we stopped selling em..

It did come from halfords originally yes. Thanks for that ya count!
but its had some tastefull upgrades in the right areas, like the hubs have been upgraded to Hope and the bars and headset are thompson.

Just ordered some new tools from chain reaction cycles as well.
Gonna have a go at tuning the gears as there is lots of clicking and not much selecting from the crank at the moment. need to watch a video though as i dont remember how to do it. And when did SRAM turn up???

sram has a different actuation in the rear mech and they say its stiffer and more defined in gera selection than shimano...i stick shimano
make sure it does not have shimano chain on sram kit cos it just dont work no matter what anyone says...
bin it when its dead and fit shimano,dont forget you need a shimano shifter to go with that...

For gears bgb I bought Haynes manual quite useful really n chain should make no difference
Iirc SRAM is 1:1 actuation shimano is 2:1

yeah yeah yeah i tell you for free it wont mix and match anymore...shimano got wise....
still i had a raging argument with my boss at the shop as bikes with 10spd shimano road bikes comeing in from the manufacturers with sram chain fitted cos it saved a few pennies just worked like coffee grinders and all the customers complaining.i just fitted shimano chain when i took em out the box and billed the supplier ....not with the best result i may add as the supplier advised me that the next 3 years production was in process at manufacture and the spec was sram chain.......dickheads......
so i run XT or dura ace dependant on type of bike and magura brakes...them is the combo that is consistent year in year out with good lasting life and warranty on magura kit is awesome.
i use swiss hubs or hope,the hope i have a fitted with swiss ceramic bearings...
it costs but it allways works nice.....i just have xtr pedals tho and thats it on top end kit as they are the best.....i got a set with over 10yrs regular use on em....
