Currently I have a policy through broker (PART TIME MOTOR TRADER POLICY)

Which last year I informed them my driving licence and one vehicle are registered at my mothers 2 miles away-I go and collect post and stored a vehicle there. (not a problem)

Had problem that their website gives no confirmation of vehicles added or removed.
Allows multiple entries and one went through, one didn't-htf was I to know? then a **** storm when I tried to remove it.
Had to fax purchase receipt and receipt for person who bought it.

This year they are saying when I need to change my driving licence to my address, thoughtfully they will renew when it matches-but there isn't enough time because they wrote too close to renewal.

So I can go with an LV underwritten policy which has better cover for less money, but I think it is a highway policy (really not keen)
limit up from 3.5 ton to 7.5 ton (would allow lorry)
So any ideas

I'm after a £10,000/£20,000 indemnity
Demonstration cover (currently have)
£250 excess
Legal protection

Currently paying £720 a year.

Hot hatches, family cars and rr covered, no evo/ferrari or similar

Im with LV think its called a Highway, 10,000 indemnity, seems ok too me for £550......but not had to put it to the test.

Is there something I should know????

I've a policy booklet coming from broker (choice quote) about highway/LV to look through.
Highway did have a few complaints previously from people a few years ago-claims related.

MMA have been pain in arse
1)Sent proof of other vehicle insurance-they lost it and sent ****ty letter to me
2)Sent to broker and claimed not received-faxed to MMA directly
3)Asked for copy of my driving licence-sent it in
4)told me I couldn't put a un taxed car on policy-wtf are they on,after complaining they sorted it
So generally MMA have been pain in butt

wife's car is with LV, been as good as gold.

my astravan was with LV, when I had an accident, the service was excellent. only stopped using them 'cos of price, they didn't really want to do commercial policies for vans.

May i bring the learned gentlemens attention to a company

called Tradex, My motor traders policy resides with these

people. I have had claims upon the policy (non fault)

and found them to be very helpful and nearly human!

Google em!. nuff said.:).

Okay I tried tradex and their speed of getting any quote sorted is glacial.
Choicequote are ruthlessly inefficient from all dealings so far.

In the end I decided to go for trade sure with norton insurance.

Anything upto 7.5 ton fully comp £690 and £250 excess 10,000 and 20 000 indemnity
Covers motor homes and if you want the mad engine mods it drops to third party and £500 excess
Demonstration cover included and legal protection.
Guy I spoke to sent my a 30 odd page policy and when I queried several things he was back to me within 30 mins.

So all in all it sounds a reasonable deal with a human to talk to

Try Tradex mate, I was with MMA, swapped to Tradex last year as I wanted full bike cover too, I was sick of insuring my bike seperatly and I've found them much better so far.
Just renewed with them again too.
I've got a £20k indemnity and their not fussy and have stipulations about no performance cars,no LHD etc.
Only thing I will say is sometimes they can take a while to update the MID database when you add/remove things online but it's always done within a week and I use a Trade Plate if a vechicle is not showing yet.
