Well another year has passed and it was time for the wife's car to be M.O.T let me explain it is a 1998 freelander 1 1800 petrol the wife had the head gasket done on it a couple of months ago and I thought it might be money wasted at £350 and it proved me wrong it passed with one advisory a tyre the other three are a bit going about 2mm so she said she is having 4 new tyres to celebrate it passing the mot .

congrats teddywood1 its nice to hear when things go right for a change ,we all moan about our freelanders at some stage , but they aint that bad , the proofs there with your wife's .

£350 doesn't sound too bad, hopefully they replaced the water pump timing belt etc at the same time. If it was done right it should last the life of the car.

Good result :)

I used to run Goodyear Wranglers on my '99 L Series - but they (195/80R15) are discontinued here in NZ now.

My car has had 35 WOF (MOT) inspections over its lifetime (annually up to 5 years then every 6 months). A couple of them I think are just additional tests when it was resold to new owners and 6 times were retests after its failed. Of those 6 failures, 3 have been in my 5/6 years ownership - I never do any inspections before tests and 1 or 2 of those failures were simply tyres. So that's really good I recon.

yes alibro everything was done properly I had only just replaced the water pump so no need on that and I am chuffed as mine passed 2 weeks ago and with having this new knee it has been a struggle to even get going at times , but we do keep our freelanders well serviced and I think that it goes a long way with the MOT tester if he see's a car looked after and this is the third year at least the wife's car has passed first time not bad for a 18 year old .here is a picture of my new knee

Cool, your bionic! :p

Good luck with it mate, I've heard knee ops are very painful for a while but once settled very successful.

Just dropped my mate & his family up at the airport. His mother-in-law had bad knees, so he told her to get them done and he'd pay for her to come over (from the UK) and they'd take her to Rarotonga for a week. So they're off and she's a lot more mobile than when she was over last time.

Got another mate who's had both his knees done, huge mountain of a bloke. He trialed, but never quite made it, into the All Blacks in his younger days but years rugby took its toll! Once again he's a lot more mobile since the op.

the trouble is other things are going wrong but it can not be as bad as it has been I suffer with a serious back problem, but last year I had the all clear after fighting cancer for 10 years and also I had to have my hands done as I had carpel tunnel in both hands now they are done I can not fell the finger tips I I tried for a rugby team they would be using me for the ball LOL
if you paid for the knee job over here it is £4500 each
