Ok, so my disco failed it's MOT on front shocks and a noisy bearing. I replaced them all today, however I now have the 3 amigos which I didn't have for the MOT. If I have rectified the failure issues, can it fail on a new issue, i.e. the 3 amigos?
 
If the tester finds a fault they will fail it.

Yep as they are indicating ABS failure.
That's what I thought but my mate reckons they can only re-test the items it failed on and I do recall hearing that before. To be fair though, I can't imagine going for a re-test for a blown tail light with a wheel missing and expecting the tester to pass it....
On the other hand, if I drove into the test centre and he poked his head under the front bumper and saw a brand new hub and two new shocks, he can see the faults have been rectified.
To be honest though, I'd rather drive in confidently knowing I had no faults and those 3 bastards were gone!
 
I stand to be corrected, but there's a list of items that are 'partial retest' where only that item will be checked. Can't find wheel bearing or suspension on it which would suggest it will be a full test.

You MIGHT be lucky & they'll just have a quick look to see if you've done the bits they failed it on & not bother but is it worth it?

My MOT tester would give it another full test, as A, the vehicle wasn't repaired there, and B, it was more than a bulb, wiper or screen washer that was at fault.

So I'd fix it, before returning it. Presumably it's an ABS sensor issue, from where the bearing was changed.

All irrelevant now, turned out to be a faulty sensor/cable, (Britpart...:rolleyes:) fitted the old sensor to the new hub and 3 amigos disappeared. I now have a new MOT :D

Ah yes, our dear blue box friends. I saw a stainless exhaust advertised at a very good price and bought it for the Lightweight rebuild. I got it out of the box the other day, and you can imagine my surprise and delight when I saw that it was one of theirs. Actually it looks pretty well made, but at this minute I'm convinced that it's about 4" too short. I'll know tomorrow when the engine goes back in.
 
Yep as they are indicating ABS failure.
Many years ago my Accountant bought a car which in the advert it said it had ABS,
He had an accident and blamed it on the brakes not being efficient enough and complained to the dealer that his ABS brakes were not working properly.
The dealer replied that this car did not have ABS Brakes, the ABS mentioned in the advert meant A Brake Servo.
