I've had my discovery about 3 weeks. It's a 300tdi ES I got it from a small dealer, about 100 miles from my home. To cut a long story short I have encountered quite a few problems, the truck has needed two new auto box cooler pipes, discs and pads all round as well as second hand callipers (as they were just balls of rust) I contacted the seller and he agreed to pay for all these parts. The truck came with an mot from December with a bill for welding etc of £600 however I could find no evidence of this but I did find a small hole, i contacted the garage and they have told me they did have a dodgy mot tester (bugger) I have also found that the surrounds to the hubs are corroded and between two of the retaining bolts the metal is totally gone. I've had the vehicle checked over and appart from needing anti roll bar bushes they say it's sound with very little rust on the boot floor etc. I now legally I have the right to ask the garage to take the vehicle back or repair it but having already started work including some undersealing and fitting a new bumper along with servicing items too I'd rather keep it because I want get this money back. If the garage refuse to pay for the additional parts what options do I have? Who is responsible if the MOT is fake? any advice would be much appreciated. :D

First thing is how much did you pay for it?
Why were all the brake discs and pads changed?
The callipers.....you say "balls of rust" could you explain please, and why fit S/H replacements?
What is your gripe with the MOT if it was tested eight months ago??
That'll do for now, answer e few of my questions and I might be able to offer some advice.

£2000

all rusted and pitted, MOT bill said pads and discs on front changed as well as welding done. Total bill £660

Very hard to remove, not functioning, could not remove bleed nipples etc and I was offered a set very cheap so just changed em.

That the work done for mot stated has not been carried out, this work is given on the MOT record system as being a reason for failure, work was then supposedely done adn then passed.
Thanks for your help.

dealer agreed I would pay for labour but it was done by a mate at a garage. Car has 7 months MOT when I got it and the amount of work done for the mot just 2000 miles before I brought it I didn't dig deep enough. Thanks for advice though.
