Tyres now ordered, yay :D. Set of 5 Insa Turbo Mountains at what I think is a pretty good price. Used them on the Range Rover on the last trip and they faired very well so thought might as well stick with what we know.

Hello Rusty,

I wish you all the best, and a safe trip.

Keep us all posted on the events.

Have a good run down to Algeciras, as boring as it is probably going to be,

'vette

Alright Rusty have a good trip mate, hope all goes well an keep us updated with how it all goes, see ya when ya get back.

Tyres sorted...Insa Turbo Mountain 215/80/16....quite odd as although the tyres are a fair bit taller and a little wider, the steering is much lighter than it was before, shows how rubbish my old tyres were really!

Front brakes ordered, wheel bearing kit and extra (genuine) seals ordered...oil cooler on the way...getting there!

Oh and straightened the roof bars out a bit from the recent tree incident!

Well...it was a case of take the roof rack off...cut down the tree which was horizontally blocking the lane (not going to do that, I quite like trees) or just, ahem, bump past it! I took the lazy option :)

Yeah, can't beat being on the road :D

Oil cooler fitted. Used a mix of old parts and new parts. The old style oil cooler is not very effective compared to modern designs, so that was ditched in favour of a new one. Also, we don't have room for the old style cooler because of where the electric fan is. So used the military oil cooler sump, some of the fixings, converted those down to the 40 PSI hydraulic pipe size for the rest of it.

Bit worrried about stone chips, but I reckon it will be OK.

We are also raising money for the Mercy Corps again....we have raised over £2000 on our previous trips for them (none of the money raised goes to fund our trip at all - directly to the charity).
This is a shamless plug basically, but if anyone is in a charitable mood, dontations towards the Mercy Corps can be made on our Moroccan Road Trip 2010 page at The Rusty Rhinos - Moroccan Road Trip 2010 - home page - our target is a moderate £500.

For those interested in our travels, thanks to Chris at Pebble Track, our Land Rover is equipped with GPS and live tracking can be found at the top page of our blog at:

10 Days to the trip :D

Rusty I'd put a decent mesh over that there oil cooler a good half inch in front of it to save like you say stone chips destroying it last thiong you want is oil pising out in the middle of nowhere

Very soon - go down to Adams on Wednesday ready for an early start Thursday :).

Not sure I will have time to be honest this week - perhaps have a few when I come back :)

if your passing give me a bell for a pint, if not have fun good luck and remember lots of photos

Nice one, thanks guys :). Always have fun and of course will take loads of photos.

The fundraising has gone really well, we will easily surpass the £500 target so have increased it...£100 from a previous sponsor and £100 from Team Desert Bunnies (who cannot make it on this trip, but I am sure they will be back on another one :)) has greatly helped. All good stuff :)
