You can use a thin screwdriver, but then the front cover won't come off past the handle..Rember the drill bit (or whatever LR0000 your supposed to use) to stop pin flying out

You only need 3rd on the manual diesel. Torque does all the rest.
Mine will do ok, (with a two mile run up.. !!) anyone who knows Halden hill in Exeter, never made it to the top in 5th yet..There is no go in mine at high speed on steep hills. You either keep the turbo raging or have to drop down 4th. This can be expected with 32" tractor tires and 2"lift. Still v.good for heavy vehicle with these mods, and will improve with more TLC no doubt
