Im running a petrol 2.25 fitted new distributor and carb, getting 12/13 mpg. today took oil bath filter off and fitted a K & N filter, goes better will have to see if the mpg goes up.!!

Just replaced my starting motor as the old one was sticking, found the exhaust was slightly loose on the manifold, a bit of hasle but manadged to tighten it up, reset the mixture on the carb.

Took it out for spin and I cant beleve hom much better it went !!!!!! its flying.......

I will post in again with the new mpg.

Power to weight ratio? Lose all the crap in the back that you don't need to make it lighter also I was thinking about replacing the side and rear windows with Perspex as it's a lot lighter than glass:scratching_chin:

Mine does around 23mpg on a long run at a steady 56-60. If you have a SWB consider changing upto 7.50 LWB wheels (but change the speedo as well!) Pre Overdrive it was around 20mpg. (5MB motor, weber carb, std dizzy, FWH). I've since changed to an electronic distributor supplied by Simonbbc which has helped it run a little better, apart from icing in the carb it has fired up even in the recent -10 or so temps! My next steps are some road tyres and a 1:9 ACR head, we'll see what the difference is! I did add some molyslip to the gearbox which made little difference to consumption but reduced noise, especially when added to the overdrive.
