Hi everyone,
as you may or may not be aware, I bought a rangie with an overheating problem. Well today, with some sound advice from datatek and wammers, I replaced the water pump and thermostat with numerous cups of tea.
On the left is what I pulled out, as you can see it is missing a fair bit!
Did the water pump and I have to say the old one didn't look too bad. Put everything back together and filled the system, got her ticking over and had a cup of tea.
After about 10 mins the temp gauge started to move and she was indeed waming up very nicely. The right hand hose (as you look towards the front of the car) got very warm as did the left (which shows thermostat opening) and across the top of the radiator got very hot. Also got a nice amout if heat into the cabin!
The rest of it didn't, wouldn't even say luke warm. So I'm guessing it's a new radiator time.
OEM or a pattern part?
Thanks
