mixing oil brands

What are peoples thoughts on mixing different branded oils , but of the same spec ie 80/90 gl4 .

Often done it, never had a problem.

No worries, can even mix different grades/spec within reason, but bear in mind then the whole lot of oil will then be at the lower spec/grade.
There is an old saying that goes, any oil is better than no oil, and it is spot on.

I know what i have where now , But next top up maybe not ! knowing me . i did not have enough of the same brand to fill the transfer box , So ive had to use another brand .
But if same spec can be mixed that's great

As long as the same spec and type I have never worried about what brand they are.

all 80/90 GL4 , i will check for any other spec differences . Thanks for the help everyone .

My old tractor has every kind of oil you can think of in the crankcase, never had an issue

so long as it is the same grade then there shouldn't be an issue
