I work Friday through to Tuesday night/Weds morning. Sometimes if it’s quiet I don’t get a shout or msg.. I just roll through the evening waiting for stuff. Anyhoo thats what happened today.. no mention of work etc. was looking forward to a night at home.. and working in the garage.
Well, at 1934hrs that was actually happening when my phone went ‘Ping’ and there was work giving me a late start time.. for context I usually get notified around 1300hrs.. peeved was what described my reaction. To add insult to injury, when I assemble the my drums yesterday I did the recommended ‘clean off your back plate contact points and apply copper grease. Well I
Have all the gear so that was going to be an easy thing to achieve.. but I only cleaned off and CG’d one side… and later fitted the brake set ‘as is!’.. I.e to the side with no cleaning or copper grease. It was only when I read Nodge’s reminder on another thread that I thought ‘wait a minute’.. 5 minutes later and it was confirmed I hadn’t done what is recommended.. well, not to both back plates. ‘No worries’ thought I. Strip down, sort out and replace everything. Only ‘someone’ in their haste to get things done managed to pinch the cylinder rubbers on both ends so I have had to purchase a
Cylinder repair kit.. Ho hum!! Some more ‘practise’ I could have done without..
