So I bought a military look landrover, I am not yet in possession of it yet, it was painted up like a military vehicle with bridge plate, it’s perfect and good/great condition, low mileage, clean inside, lots of great points, a dead ringer to one I had 25 years ago and had to give up so very emotional, it was every thing I hoped for…however!…it is not definite it ever served, I doubt it, ( it’s civvy spec…but maybe it served) I presumed that as it was done like a military it was,
I am a bit of a purist I guess and it sits a little uncomfortable for me knowing this, I’m reluctant to not own it as it’s so good in so many ways and I just really want a landrover to love and enjoy, I don’t intent on showing or to say it’s military because I can’t be sure but will I be accepted in fun groups?
Is it whatever you want your own landrover to be?
I admit making one something it probably isn’t not what I might of done and I am in desperately in love and so excited, believe me it’s everything I hoped for..visually…but is that enough!? or is this a no no?

Hello Tabitha, it's yours (or will be), so do whatever you like with it, it's no-one else's business.

I'm a shocking river counter, within the limits of reality, but I don't impose that one anyone.

When can we see a pic or three?

Welcome, life is too short, embrace and enjoy it..... there are loads with NOS (New old stock) military non issued kit which hasn't served as well.

Have some fun in it...

As long as it was oiled up to the hilt, find a mud bath and enjoy it.

Seriously though like a lot of military stuff, they're passionate about having NATO store numbers for parts. But your real id the chassis number vin plate.
As long it not looking banana shaped, even military classed as drivable. Then sit back and enjoy the rest day worrying about driving like the rest of us did or do.

I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!! 😍😍😍
I know you should never ask a question if you aren’t prepared for the answer you might not like but I’m so pleased I asked and I am now whoooooaaaa 100% in this thing!
I can’t thank you enough for your views and it’s an overwhelming yes from you!

And yes life too short..that’s what made me get one🥹😁

Hi, welcome to the forum.
A lot of people paint their Landy up military style. If you love it that's all that matters. Hope you have some fun times with it :)

Thank you for your welcome and thank you all for being so welcoming and positive!
I hope for fun times too. Will introduce him and me when he arrives next week.
There’s a wonderful spooky twist to this tale too relating to my original one 25 years ago.
I’m so excited, just trying to organise insurance with limited success at the moment.

Phone around and don't accept any BS. Your age, driving experience, vehicle and postcode are unique to you, so do the hard yards and call them all.
FWIW, I'm in the insurance business, although not on the motor side, but I know how the risks are assessed.
HTH

That's good news and we'll look forward to the pictures and chinwag.
