I recently bought a 52 freelander es td4 my question is do these come with wheel spacers on the hubs as standard thanks in advance
As mine is on standard wheels and has spacers on the front but the wheel does not sit on the centre of the hub if I take the spacer off the wheel touches the caliper before it gets to the hub
It has had pre 2000 wheels fitted. The later 2000 onwards wheels are designed to miss the larger brakes fitted to later model.
Someone has fitted the wrong wheels, hence the need for spacers
I wouldn't drive it unless it has the correct wheels filled. I expect the back wheel spokes are sitting on the drums too. You need to find a correct set of wheels. Is this ok to drive on as there is a bit of vibration when driving it and I don't think the wheel is actually sitting on the centre bore of the hub thanks in advance I have added some pics
I haven't had the backs off yet but the spokes are away from the drum so suspect the rear has spacers on toI wouldn't drive it unless it has the correct wheels filled. I expect the back wheel spokes are sitting on the drums too. You need to find a correct set of wheels.
Could be the right wheels - just had wider tyres fitted and spacers needed. Plenty of people do that - you need good safe spacers though.
You can run the older wheels on newer cars if really necessary for a short while with spacers fitted. But as you've found out, they don't sit flush and bad spacers will exacerbate this into a wobbly car.
The other way round works OK.
But it's a good excuse to get the wheels you want.

There was a thread on here about all fittings, but I can't find it at the moment.

Yeh, from what I can make out - thems with pimples, or little holes between the spokes, are the later wheels for fitting over larger brakes. An I right in thinking the wheels with the pimples will fit thanks in advance
