Mig Welders

That sounds like a good discount, is it a good price? I can’t honestly say as haven’t needed to look for years.

Ah I see the bottle clause now (read again:oops:)

Mine is a 150 and have no issue with what I have needed it for so far. But then I also have a 200 stick,:) (call me greedy :D)
My only complaint (on mine) would be not enough adjustment for amps. But I have learnt to get used to that. Mine is switches rather than a dial.

The HSE are now saying that anyone welding mild steel should wear a respirator, even if there is fume extraction in place. How you are supposed to wear a respirator under a welding helmet, I don't know.

That Sealey is the perfect machine for you and in all honesty will far exceed your expectations in terms of work, I think it's the same as @resto_d1 has and he has been busily welding 2 & 3mm steel plate on chassis with it.

You can best use Adams for a big cylinder, trust me, nothing worse than running out half way through and it gets tedious changing bottles when you just get into the rhythm of what you're doing.

Mines actually a Clarke 151te that I got for 150 barely used! I also use a big tank of Adams gas ;)

Tis true. You have a ventilation helmet with a waist pack and air feed. Not cheap!! Not a prob if your outside though
 
I use my local Adams GAS stockist for my welder gas.
Local, and no rental or any of that nonsense like with Aire-Liquide (french Cnuts).
As said above a Gas/No-Gas welder will let you play with both styles (just a polarity change) according to what you are faced with (outside & windy).
My Clarke MIG welder was fine and the wire-feed was pretty good TBH. But folks are right, the wire-feeds on MIG-Units can be their achilles-heel.
Which is why I went over to TIG welding. LOL.
